Cycle the 4.5-mile flat trail for a panoramic view of Great South Bay. Watch for the nests of ospreys, a sea hawk, that tower over the park campground, and over the trail near Field 7. This 1600-acre former 19th-century estate also shelters white-tail deer and a variety of other birds. The park, originally opposed by local residents, represented public official Robert Moses's toughest fight to ensure the availability of public lands on Long Island.
